Story Development1jpg

Do you often find yourself with a great idea for a story but then struggle to translate it into a piece of writing that you feel does it justice?

It can often be easy to see the ‘big picture’ but much more challenging to break it down into the component parts and reassemble it as a whole.

In this workshop, we will introduce you to a structure with which we will  gradually build up a narrative. Bringing together both creative and logical thought processes, we collectively establish a creative blueprint, which we then use to craft a story.

The session lasts for two and a half hours and is for adults.  The group is limited to 6 places.

Our Story Development workshop will introduce you to techniques that explore:

Structure as part of the creative development process

Creative and logical thought processes

Building confidence in creativity through collaborative working

Getting to know your characters is an important stage of the creative process. Compelling characters know who they are and behave accordingly. This sense of self inspires us, excites us, and most importantly stays with us.

In this workshop, you will take a character that you create on a journey of self-discovery. We begin with a visualisation and move through a variety of engaging exercises to establish personality, motivating forces and emotional temperament.

This workshop is great for getting beyond stereotypes to understand the person inside the character.

The session lasts for two and a half hours and is for adults.   The group is limited to 6 places.

Our Character Development workshop will introduce you to techniques that explore:

Visualisation to improve observational skills

Adaptation: Overcoming obstacles

Emotional Expression: Beyond primary emotional responses
